How does Spectra XT Q Switch laser toning actually work?
Each pulse lasts a fraction of a blink, just long enough to fracture pigment into pieces too small to see, and the body sweeps them away over the following weeks. Carbon paste gives that same pulse something extra to burn through first, lifting off with dead surface skin, which is where Carbon Peel gets its brightening. Tattoo ink answers to the same physics, just recalibrated for ink instead of melanin.

Come in bare faced, no sunscreen either; light needs an unobstructed path to whatever it's targeting.
Pregnancy, photosensitizing medications, recent sun exposure whatever applies say it at consultation, since any of it can change what's safe that day.
ONCE YOU'RE HOME
POST TREATMENT CARE
For the next few days, skin's more sensitive than it looks, so treat it like it is.
Sunscreen isn't a suggestion right now; treated skin catches both burns and new pigment faster than usual.
Give harsh actives and exfoliants a week off, let things settle before adding anything back in.
Whatever flakes or peels, leave it be; picking undoes the work the treatment just did.
A few hours of mild redness or warmth are just the skin settling back down, nothing more than that.
